I have salt pellets with rust remover put in my water softener every month. Can salt cause hair loss?

Rust coming from holes in washing machine?

There is rust coming from the holes in my 5-year-old washing machine. I have seen posts that suggest using a rust remover, but that doesn't solve my problem long term. Any ideas?

You can try to use some special enamel you can purchase at hardware stores (less than $5), but if you can't see the nicks in the enamel of the basket (that cause the rust stains) to do the touch-up, you need to have the washing basket in your machine changed out. Ask around for how much that would cost though (parts and labor), because it might be cheaper to just purchase a new machine.

How do I remove rust stains on plastic laminate countertop?

I was thinking CLR, but the directions say specifically no to plastic. I don't know if I can water it down or just stay away from it. The only other thing there was a heavy duty rust remover which didn't say no to plastic, but was recommended for vehicles, metal and other outdoor uses, so I'm nervous about using it.
Does anyone have any other ideas? CLR was my best bet.

Have you ever used the Magic Erasers? They work really well and may remove the stain. They are cheap so you will not be out of much money if it does not work. I would try that.

my baby green colored blouse has a obvious rust stain which i have no idea to get rid of it. is there any effective way to remove that stain?it must not causes any loses of the original color of the blouse.

The best way to get rust stains out of your clothing is to use a lemon, or table salt and cream of tarter.

Lemon

•To use a lemon, lay your garment on a flat surface on top of a towel.

•Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice onto the rust stain. (If you do not have a lemon, you can use bottled lemon juice, it works just as well.)

•Lay your garment in the sun and allow it to dry.

•Once your garment has dried, look to see if the rust stain has lifted. If it has not, repeat the process.
•If the rust stain is removed, launder your garment.

Salt and Cream of Tarter

•To use salt and cream of tarter, simply make a mixture using equal parts of both.

•Lay your garment on a flat surface on top of a towel.

•Spread your cream of tarter and salt mixture onto the rust stain.

•Place your garment in the sun and allow it to dry.

•If the rust stain has lifted, launder the shirt.

•If the rust stain has not lifted, repeat the process…

Molasses rust removal

You can remove rust from metal by soaking it in a mixture of feed grade molasses and water. Ive removed rust from washers, bolts, brake rotors, auto body parts, and more. Be sure to paint or treat the surface after rinsing to avoid flash rusting.

It is important that you use a sulfured molasses, which most often can be sourced from an agricultural feed store. I typically use a 3 parts molasses to 1 part water ratio for rust removal. (Hot water works best to dissolve the molasses) Submerge your rusty parts in the solution and check back in 2-3 weeks. Severely rusty parts will require additional time. The solution can be reused, but Ive noticed that it smells like it is fermenting after 2-3 months.
